Hamilton Soccer Club Player Conduct Policy

At Hamilton Soccer Club (HSC), we believe that a positive and respectful environment is essential for player development and enjoyment. This Player Conduct Policy outlines the expectations for how all players will conduct themselves at practices and games. By adhering to these guidelines, we ensure a supportive and fun experience for everyone involved.

Expectations for Player Conduct

  1. Respectful Behavior: Players are expected to show respect to:
  • Coaches: Listen attentively, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Teammates: Encourage and support each other, avoid negative comments, and work together as a team.
  • Opposing Team: Compete fairly, shake hands before and after games, and avoid taunting or disrespectful actions.
  • Referees: Accept all calls without argument or backtalk, even if you disagree. The referee’s decision is final.
  • Spectators/Supporters: Acknowledge their support positively and refrain from engaging in any negative interactions with them.
  1. Language: Players must refrain from using foul or abusive language at all times, whether directed at coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, or spectators. This includes swearing, derogatory terms, or any language that could be considered offensive.
  2. Preparation and Punctuality: Players are expected to arrive at the designated time for all practices and games. This means being dressed in appropriate gear, having all necessary equipment (such as a ball, shin guards, and water bottle), and being ready to start warm-ups promptly.
  3. Focus and Dedication:While we encourage a fun atmosphere, there is a time and place for silliness. During practices and games, players are expected to be focused and dedicated to the activity at hand. This means paying attention to coaches’ instructions, participating actively in drills, and giving their best effort. Socializing and playful interactions should be reserved for before and after the official practice or game time.
